Mens Wedding Rings Now Available Popular New Options

When it comes to men’s wedding rings, the choices that are available on the market currently are more diverse with more intricate designs than ever before. In previous times, wedding rings were more of an afterthought for men and the biggest worry was on the woman’s engagement ring. While little else compares to the importance of the engagement ring, there are new rings for men that definitely command attention. Black titanium rings and tungsten rings are probably the most innovative novel options on the market.

Black titanium rings are increasingly becoming the wedding ring of choice for men, and there are several reasons for this. The unique composition of the metal is one of the main reasons, since it is very strong, rust resistant, tarnish-proof and yet very lightweight. This enables the man to wear a very bold and sizable ring without feeling weighed down or worrying about scuffing his ring. The resistance to wear and tensile strength also make for fantastic weddings rings since the titanium will last for a long time.

It is important to know the varying grades of titanium before ring shopping. Black titanium bands come in nearly 30 different metal grades that are evaluated by the tensile strength of the material. Pure titanium has the weakest tensile rating, but additives such as oxygen and iron bolster the tensile strength. Most men’s black titanium rings are at the upper end of the hardness scale, and thus are more likely to resist scratching and scuffing.

Tungsten rings are another handsome choice that more men are leaning towards. They also make fantastic wedding rings as they are extremely wear resistant and are about ten times harder than 18 karat gold, five times harder than tool steel and four times harder than titanium. On the Mohs hardness scale, tungsten measures between eight and nine, while the notoriously hard diamond comes in at the highest score of ten. Tungsten rings are so hard that they retain their shape and retain a polish longer than other rings on the market; so much that they are often considered to be “permanently polished rings.” They don’t bend, they don’t contain cobalt which some people are allergic to, and they are typically hand-crafted with a variety of diamond abrasives and poly crystalline diamond tools.

Men currently have more options than ever when they shop for wedding rings and other jewelry. Titanium and tungsten rings are certainly two of the most increasingly popular and most unique options on the market today, and there is good reason for their rise to the top of the jewelry market.
