Leon Breitling opened the Breitling workshop in the Jura Mountains region of Switzerland in 1884; this was used to cater to work that specializes in the manufacture of chronographs as well as precision instruments. Years later, Gaston Breitling (the son of Leon) developed the first Breitling chronograph watch – this allowed the company to be the leader in revolutionary design and innovation. That’s the reason it’s been constantly replicated in many Breitling replica watches. Particularly known for pilots watches, the brand is categorized into five main collections; Navitimer, Windrider, Professional, Aeromarine, and lately, the merging with Bentley Motors.
The Navitimer (launched in 1952) is the signature of the brand made up of navigation aids. Among the names that make up the Navitimer Collection are: World, Cosmonaute, Montbrillant, Legende, Olympus, Datora and Chrono-matic. On another note, the Chronomat, Evolution, Cockpit, Chrono Cockpit, Starliner, and Blackbird make up the Windrider Collection.
The Professional Collection includes tailored watches for aviators, like the famous Emergency watch fitted with a built-in micro transmitter which when activated, broadcasts to the 121.5 MHz aircraft emergency frequency helping save lives when a crash or forced landing occurs. The Emergency Mission, Aerospace, Airwolf, Skyracer, and Co-Pilot are the other models in the Professional series.
The Aeromarine collection is composed of a lot of models, including the Super Avenger, Avenger Skyland, Chrono Avenger, Chrono Avenger M1, Avenger Seawolf, Chrono Superocean, Superocean Steelfish, Superocean Heritage, Chrono Colt, Colt GMT, Colt Automatic, Colt Quartz, and Colt Oceane.
Lastly, the Breitling for Bentley Collection has seen the 6.75, GMT, GT, GT Racing, Mark VI, Motors, Motors T, Mulliner Tourbillion, Flying B, and Flying B No.3 in keeping with the traditions of the fine car manufacturer and this remarkable watch brand.
